£7 - Marks and Spencer

Me: Deep fruity nose. First taste almost plum-like with strong forest berry highlights; not too much lingering taste. Subsequent quoffs full of blackberries; velvety-rich. Pleasant after taste. Stands up well to pizza. Nice one.

Mrs: Good on the palate, cherries and blackcurrant. Poor on the nose, could only smell alcohol. Good after taste. Excellent with pizza. 8/10

Me: Deep ruby red, rich texture, spicy flavour - touch of cinnamon. Smooth after taste. 7/10.

Mrs: Dry on the palate - unpleasant on nose. 6/10.

Marques de Caceres 2009, White Rioja, Villora grapes.

Mrs: not dry enough - faint perfume of blossom and taste of grass.
Me: Little in the way of bouquet. Smooth on the lips; tastes of apples; no after taste. Not unpleasant, but was a bit lacking in everything. 4/10
